No really, look at Lowndes County Georgia in person before you claim this message is wrong. Talk about the biggest fattest ugliest white pigs in America - Georgia is the place. The police BRAG about hanging blacks if they get out of control and how they shoot n****** and can get aay with it coz they were here first (meaning they were in Georgia first with their white supremecy garbage). whats worse, the starve the black inmates in the Lowndes County Jail as a torture method to get them to have their familes cough up money orders that go into the Sheriff's office so they can buy more food. What a shame. During our tour (wife and 2 brothers) we also noticed that 2 of the 5 bathrooms in one cell block worked and the water was over flowing in one toilet. In this same room, the windows were busted and cold air creeped in through the broken glass in the cell window.
This is unsanitary and plague / diseases will break out in Lowndes county Jail houses soon because of these conditions. Then workers and recent inmates who get released to the public will come out and spread the diseases they carry to the general public. Isnt that nice to know? Valdosta primary purpose of Valdosta Lowndes County Sheriff's Office is to incarcerate and arrest anyone they dont like to bring in money for the city. If the cops dont arrest anyone how is the court house suppose to make any money? This is in response to Hyun Soo's worst & best, EXCUSE ME, #2 Norcross as being best to live, are you nuts, Norcross is full of gangs, and has been on the news this evening, I lived there, Athens as worst because of it being a college town, come on now, College towns always have a good economy and Athens is on its way up, when is the last time you been there? Just my 2 cents worth.

I have one thing to say about this post, and that is that there is no worst place to live in Georgia. It doesnt get any better than Georgia, wheter you in the Major cities of Valdosta (Lowndes County) , Augusta, Savannah, Columbus, Macon, and Albany, or the country small towns like, Plains, Tifton, Dublin, Roberta, Vidiala, Reynolds, Marshallville, Americus, Warm Springs. There are no best or worst places, pick anyplace in Georgia, and I assure you, that you will find some good out of it. So when you all say worst or best, think outside of Georgia.

Hey everyone. Where you decide to live is up to you. All cities have crime nowadays. Just some worse than others. All depends on what your accustomed to. I like little towns myself. I lived in Fitzgerald, Ga for 25 years. And I am now living in Eastern Pennsylvania. And I miss Fitzgerald and the sunshine. If you have the time to take your time in deciding where to live, that would be the best. Also, decide what your looking for in a town you want to call home.

The most violent crime happens in Lowndes County, GA afterall they are always on cops you can see Lowndes County in the left hand box in the Cops chases and videos

You put that very well. I lived in Fitzgerald. Now living in Pennsylvania. And I really miss Georgia and the sun. I miss how the people in the south are much nicer and more polite. Just wanted to let you know that you said that quite well.

Can anyone expand on why Newton County is so terrible? My husband and I are thinking of moving to Covington for teaching jobs. We want a rural/suburban atmosphere where we can quickly reach a town but we want a small farm for animals. Any help would be great- THANKS!

Best is Athens, period.
Laid back, walkable downtown.
downside is few good jobs, I had to work in Lawrenceville but I still miss Athens.
Within Lowndes County is the Lowndes County School System and the Valdosta School System which serves the top 10 worst cities to live in in the state of Georgia of Valdosta.
Also within the county is Valdosta State University, Valdosta Technical College and an extension campus of the Georgia Military College (of Milledgeville, Georgia).
Lowndes County has four high schools, two public, and two private. Lowndes High School recently won the Georgia AAAAA football championship in top 10 worst counties to live in in the state of Georgia 004 and top 10 worst counties to live in in the state of Georgia 005.
